NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Matchmaker Program and Speaker Service


The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies is the representative voice of Jewish communal interests in NSW. The Board has over sixty constituent organisations under its umbrella accounting for every facet of the Jewish community including every major institution of Jewish Education. A Speaker Service and the Matchmaker Program are offered to NSW schools.

Speaker Service

The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies Speaker Service has been operating for more than 35 years. The service provides speakers on any topic related to Jewish affairs and Israel. We can provide speakers to address topics relating to the following syllabus topics:

  • Stage 6 Modern History: Creation of Israel and Arab Israel Conflict
  • Stage 6 Modern History: National Study of Germany 1918-1939; selected topics from Conflict in Europe 1935-1945
  • Studies of Religion: Stage 6 Judaism.

The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies also provides appropriate speakers to address students and teachers about the following subject matter:

  • Anti-Semitism
  • Jewish Life in Australia
  • The Holocaust.

The Matchmaker Program

The Matchmaker Program is a service of the Board which provides a number of educational programs and packages designed to engage with the wider community.                                       

School Encounters

In addition to facilitating initial contact between schools, the Board is able to run an Interfaith Dialogue Seminar between two schools or groups that have been "matched". The Board can run half-day or full-day educational seminars that will encourage dialogue whilst at the same time include a focus on Board of Studies syllabus topics.

Facilitation

The Board will act as a facilitator between educational institutions of the wider community and those of the Jewish community. Upon the submission of your school or organisation'ss educational requirements, the Board will source the most appropriate "match" with a Jewish school of education organisation.
